Arc'teryx Cerium Down Jacket - Women's review
I was really on the fence about getting the Cerium down jacket for like, half a year. At first, I thought it looked kinda old - ladyish. But then I started thinking it was actually super practical and I could wear it every day for years. And then there was the whole color thing. I kept looking at all the options, and you know what? Finally, I settled on navy blue. I mean, I already have so many black Arc'teryx pieces at home. (Officially, they call it sapphire blue or blue - black, but it's basically navy to me.)
I tried on a whole bunch of sizes - women's M, women's L, men's S, and men's M.
Here's what I found. I ended up keeping the women's L, and this is how it looks on me.
The women's M fit me really well in a way. It showed off my waist and looked neat. But when I tucked in the bottom, it just looked all bunched up and tight.
The men's S was straight - cut. It was about the same size as the women's M, but without that defined waist, it actually looked cooler and more stylish. But the length was just too much. When I tucked in the bottom, it looked even worse than the women's M, all squished up. I think it's because of the difference in hip size.
The men's M was big all over. It had that loose, laid - back look, but it didn't seem as warm. And since I already have other Arc'teryx jackets in men's M, I didn't want another one that was so huge.
The women's L was a bit bigger all around. It had that loose, comfortable feel, and when I tucked up the bottom, it didn't look like it was squeezing my waist. It looked natural, not all tight and bunchy, and it wasn't too big either.
