3. What Temperatures Is the Thorium Good For?
There's the regular Thorium (which used to be called the Thorium AR) and the SV version. For the regular one, when I wear a thick fleece underneath, I find it's good for temps between about - 6 and 0 degrees Celsius. I haven't tried the SV myself, but I've heard from others that it's good for - 13 to - 5 degrees Celsius. Just thought I'd share that.
4. Should You Wear the Thorium as an Outer or Mid - layer?
Arc'teryx says you can wear it as a mid - layer, but when I tried it, it just didn't feel right. It's so puffy that it's uncomfortable. So, most of us just wear it as an outer layer. Only if you're really stuck outdoors would you use it as a mid - layer.
5. Are There Differences Between the Men's and Women's Thorium?
Before, there wasn't much of a difference. But last year, Arc'teryx changed the way the women's Thorium fits and how they stuff the down in it. I think the new version is more for everyday use, and I bet women will like it better.
