Fit & Feel
The fit is true to size for me. I'm usually an 8, and the 8 fit perfectly. They feel super lightweight, which is awesome for longer runs. I barely noticed I was wearing them. For context, they weigh in at about 7.6 ounces. They are comparable to Hoka Mach 5, which I also love.
Gravel & (Accidental) Mud Performance
Now, about that "GRVL" part... and the mud. On hard-packed gravel, they're decent. They handled fine, but they didn't inspire confidence on looser gravel. And in the mud? Well, let's just say I was sliding around a bit. The outsole just doesn't have enough grip for anything beyond smooth surfaces. I mean they aren’t designed for it anyway! Compared to Salomon's Speedcross trail shoe, which has super aggressive Contragrip lugs, the Aero Glide 3 GRVL's outsole is pretty tame.

These are perfect for runners who primarily stick to roads and paved paths and want a comfortable and lightweight shoe for daily training and recovery runs. If you're clocking 20-30 miles a week and need a shoe for those easier days, the Aero Glide 3 GRVL is a solid choice. They're also a good option for runners who prefer a more cushioned ride.
Pros & Cons: Are They Worth the Price?
At around $140, the Salomon Aero Glide 3 GRVL is priced similarly to the Hoka Clifton and a bit more than the Brooks Ghost. The pros are the amazing comfort, lightweight feel, and breathable upper. The cons are the lack of grip on loose surfaces and the relatively high price point. For improvement, I'd love to see a more aggressive outsole, maybe borrowing some tech from their trail shoes. If you're looking for a dedicated road shoe with a focus on comfort, these are worth considering. But if you venture off-road often, you might want something with more versatile traction.
