Sephora’s birthday gift options for 2021
In the past, Sephora offered VIB and Rouge members their choice from three of the same products and the one online-only birthday gift (that changes every month), while Insiders were given their choice of just the three gifts. But in 2021, Sephora changed its own rules to allow all Beauty Insiders to choose from the same three gifts and the one online-only gift (which changes out every month) for their annual birthday gift during their birthday month.
This year’s birthday gift options include past winners of Allure’s Best of Beauty and the most popular name in the beauty industry. First up, the Laneige set includes the Water Sleeping Mask, Lip Sleeping Mask and the Water Bank Moisture Cream. The second option is the Nars glow-inducing set that comes with a mini Laguna Bronzer and Laguna Lip Balm. The third beauty option is the Moroccanoil set, which has a travel-size Hydrating Style Cream, the Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream and a Night Body Serum. The fourth beauty gift option is available online only and changes every month, but past brands have included Kerastase and Briogeo, to name a few.

All Beauty Insider members are eligible to redeem one Birthday Gift per year during the month of their birthday. To redeem in Sephora or Sephora inside JCPenney stores, provide a Cast Member with your registered Beauty Insider email address. No purchase is necessary when redeeming your gift in store. How to redeem your Sephora birthday gift in stores?
The cheapest and really the most “free” way to claim your Sephora birthday gift is to go to a Sephora store. You won’t have to buy anything to claim it. All you have to do is tell a Sephora Cast Member that you’re a Beauty Insider and that it’s your birthday month. You may not receive confetti bursting through the ceiling (like you deserve, of course), but he or she can set you up with your birthday gift after you provide your registered Beauty Insider email address.
At the register, you’ll be shown your birthday gift options. Not all of them may be in stock when you visit. Choose your gift, and you’ll be handed it for free.
How to redeem your Sephora birthday gift online?
Getting your free Sephora birthday gift online may not feel as “free” because you have to make a purchase to snag it. But the silver lining is that you get to choose from all four birthday gift options instead of just three. The fourth gift set is a rotating product that changes monthly, so if you don’t like it when it comes around to your birthday month, you have three other amazing options to choose from.
Here’s how to claim your free birthday gift online:
Shop at Sephora.com or through the Sephora app like usual. Make sure to log in to your Beauty Insider account.
Add the merchandise you want to purchase to your shopping cart.
At checkout, the birthday gift options will be available for you to choose from and will be included for free with your online purchase.
Sephora offers the option to buy online and pick up your order in-store. You can redeem your birthday gift when you pick up your online order based on the store’s availability. So, check with your store when you arrive to see what’s available.
When Can I Get My Sephora birthday gift?
It’s really easy to claim your free birthday gift during your birthday month, but there are some rules regarding timing.
All Beauty Insider members get one free birthday gift per year during the month of their birthday. Birthday gifts are eligible for redemption in the two weeks before and the two weeks after your birth date, as well as throughout your birthday calendar month in Sephora stores, at sephora.com or at Sephora inside JCPenney stores (gift selection varies).
