I wasn't gonna buy a ski jacket at the end of the season. But when I was at the outlet and saw this one was 70% off, going from $400 to just $140, I couldn't help myself. And after using it, I'm really happy with my purchase.
First off, I really dig the color. This Cone orange is right in between orange and yellow. It's not too bright and in your face, but it's not boring either. The color - blocking design is pretty cool and looks good no matter how many times you see it.
Second, it's lighter and thinner than I thought it'd be when I picked it up. And the fit is way better than my old The North Face Summit Verbier ski jacket. The fabric is TNF's usual DryVent. It feels a bit softer than Futurelight, so it's more comfortable to wear than the Verbier.
Other than that, it's your typical ski jacket. It's got all the stuff you need, like a snow hood, a pocket for your ski pass, a chest pocket, hand pockets, a powder skirt, and zippers that let air in when you're sweating.
